Franklyn Air have been retained at the Institute of Directors and tasked with carrying out the HVAC maintenance at 116 Pall Mall (38,200 sqft). The buildings are Grade 1 and Grade 2 and require various specialised requirements. In essence an extremely difficult business to keep maintained. We needed to replace several of the air conditioning systems within our restaurants. Franklyn Air assessed the situation on site but also understood our priorities as a business. They devised a plan for the replacement plant that would mean we could minimise disruption to our business and save on capital costs. Franklyn Air determined that we could retain and reuse the existing pipe work but install brand new systems. Their knowledge of this market mean they were able to propose systems by Daikin that could accommodate the preference to retain the pipework and also deliver considerable savings on energy use giving us a running cost saving of 30% and the same saving on our C02 emissions.

When the refurbishment works were completed in May 2010 the building was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, so particular care needed to be taken at every phase of the works to provide the very highest possible standards of quality whilst ensuring the works were completed within the programme.
